Security

Our professional products, Workbench, Connect, and Package Manager, run on your Linux servers in your network or your Cloud Service Provider. In other words, we don’t host or manage these tools for you, so most security and data privacy concerns will be addressed by your own architects, admins, and engineers.

Posit’s Pro Products support all industry standard security and authentication tooling including the latest SSL/TLS standards, authentication against LDAP/AD or corporate SSO, and the ability to be deployed in any networking configuration including completely offline/air-gapped.

R code is almost always executed as a non-privileged user. The majority of R code, especially code run in Workbench or Connect, is executed on behalf of a restricted service or user accounts.
